APAME 2018 Convention


The Asia Pacific Association of Medical Journal Editors Convention (APAME 2018) is held at Bogor, Indonesia in conjunction with the Council of Asian Science Editors (CASE). The medical journal editors and science journal editors join together at this particular event and we expect a very meaningful collaboration among editors, authors, researchers, publishers and librarians in this region.

The Asia Pacific region’s medical and science journal editors, authors, researchers, librarians, and publishers are cordially invited to the city of Bogor (Buitenzorg), Indonesia through a series of workshops, and discussions from 18th to 19th of July 2018. There will be additional meetings of WPRIM and IMSEAR databases on 17 July 2018. The venue is IPB International Convention Center (IICC), in the Botani Square Bogor, Indonesia

APAME aims to upgrade the quality of scholarly publications in medicine and the health sciences in the Asia Pacific Region and to promote collaboration and exchange of information and knowledge among stakeholders, the Convention will highlight the regional database WPRIM, IMSEAR and roles of APAME. Plenary lectures, symposia, educational courses and social events will welcome your participation. 


The APAME 2018 is co-organized by the local organizing committee led by Vivi Setiawaty, and the international organizing committee of APAME in collaboration with the libraries of the Offices for the South East Asian and Western Pacific Region Regions of World Health Organization (WHO).


The objectives of APAME 2018 Convention are :

  • to encourage collaboration and facilitate communication among medical journal editors in the region and globally

  • to improve editorial standards and promote professionalism in medical editing through education, self-assessment, and self-governance

  • to facilitate research writing and peer-review processes through training workshops, seminars and other activities

  • to foster the continuing education of medical journals editors, reviewers, editorial staff, publishers and librarians in the region.
