APAME 2017 Convention



The Asia Pacific Association of Medical Journal Editors Convention (APAME 2017) brings the region’s medical journal editors, authors, researchers, librarians, and publishers to the historic city of Vientiane through a series of workshops, and discussions from 17th to 19th of August 2017 at Vientiane Plaza hotel, Vientiane, Lao PDR.


Aiming  to upgrade the quality of scholarly publications in medicine and the health sciences in the Asia Pacific Region and to promote collaboration and exchange of information and knowledge among stakeholders, the Convention will highlight the regional database WPRIM, IMSEAR and roles of APAME. "Search and Access for Reading, Citing and Writing" is the theme and plenary lectures, symposia, educational courses and social events will welcome your participation. 


The APAME 2017 is co-organized by the faculty of the University of Health Science Lao PDR, and the international organizing committee of APAME in collaboration with the libraries of the Offices for the South East Asian and Western Pacific Region Regions of World Health Organization (WHO).


The objectives of APAME 2017 Convention are :

  • to encourage collaboration and facilitate communication among medical journal editors in the region and globally
  • to improve editorial standards and promote professionalism in medical editing through education, self-assessment, and self-governance
  • to facilitate research writing and peer-review processes through training workshops, seminars and other activities
  • to foster the continuing education of medical journals editors, reviewers, editorial staff, publishers and librarians in the region.
